The Damage of Panasonic and Toshiba Company Closed

Well, as we know together that nowadays MEA or ASEAN Economy Community has been applied. This means that the free market for ASEAN has been started too. It  effected to the competition in works arising year by year, which is now it’s become international competition. So what? How far is it affected to the citizens of Indonesia exactly?

There’s so many people who said that our country is just a market, the place where the transactions is happened in this MEA. There’s also people who think that our human resources are not ready for this MEA implementation. If we take a look to the condition of our human resources, it shows us why this problem appears. Let’s see more deeply through this case. If we compare the number of educated people and uneducated people, it is so sad. We’ll see the fact that the number of the educated people is less than uneducated people. This is because of the low economic condition which makes the parents could not educate the children as well.

Compare with the condition of the people in Indonesia 20 years ago and right now, we’ll see the significant differences. 20 years ago, the people who has been graduated from high school can be called as an educated people. They got a good job, a good social status and a fine salary. It is different now. Nowadays the people who has been graduated from the high school is just a uneducated people. They just got a job as a waiter in a small shop, self-service or even a labor in a company. The paradigm of the people to them is just no more than an ordinary people. Even people just consider that they have no a bright future.

Now they just rely on their muscles for work. While the world need the skill of the brain for works. On the other hand, someone whom trusted in the using of this skill is just educated people, that is people who has been graduated from the university. So, when we see the fact and the condition of our country, the number of an educated people is less than uneducated people. The effects of this problem? All  of us must be  know that mostly our citizens are rely on the muscles for works. Beside the implementation of MEA makes the condition of the citizens of Indonesia worse. How?

The closing of the Japanese’s big company such as Toshiba and Panasonic make it worse and worse again. The thousands of the labor and the worker of these company has been threaten by the dissolution of the work contract (PHK). So what happened with those people in the future? For an educated people it’s been hard to compete with the other people nowadays in works, so we can imagine with the uneducated people. They will be more and more difficult to find a job in the future, because they can’t compete with the educated people who comes from not only in our country, but also from the other country in ASEAN. They have a minimum skills and education, so they just rely on their muscles to work, which means they’re not capable to work in a big company. It make the big companies try to search a better employees from the other country that more educated and has more skills rather than our citizens.

This competition is not only happened to the citizens in our country itself, the Japanese product is also can’t compete with the product from China. This is the big reason behind the closing of the Japanese company such as Toshiba and Panasonic. Indonesia has been considered as an uninteresting country for the investors to invest their money. This is become a big problem for the labors and the employees that has been relied their life to these company, because when these company is closed, they will lose their job.

The big question that appears through this problem is what will happened to the thousands of citizens of Indonesia that become a labor and threaten by the dissolution of the work contract? The government should react fast through this case. Giving the alternative which can help the people to improve their economy and to get a job. We can say that to rely on our muscles is not a best solution, it’s the worst solution. We should change our paradigm by starting to use our skills to works. As the effects, so we have to get the higher education and then we can compete with another people in this millennium.
