Trapped Being A “Fake Hero”
Everyone must be wanna be a hero, have a supper power, help people, and getting a praises. But what will happen when we don’t have any supper power? Well, to be a hero, we don’t have to have a supper power, like Superman, Spiderman, Batman and the other heroes. To be a hero, the main thing that we need is just “great”. Great on what? Great on the using of the chance that we have, to be better, to be useful. Useful for whom? Of  course for ourselves and for people.
How people who doesn’t have any supper power could be a hero? Heii… you don’t forget about  our national hero right? Their merits that made us free from the misery of the colonization. Helped us to get our rights that has been taken from our hand. To get back what we’ve belonged before. Do they have a supper power like what we’ve imagined before? That the television and the comics told us? It’s not, right?
The next, let’s compare whether they’re real hero or just a fake hero. Uuuhh… you must be just hear this name. yeah, of course like it’s written, they’re not a real hero. They’re just someone who feels like he’s a hero. How could it be? Let’s take a look more deeply.
The first case : when we’re on a plane, a mother suggested to use the oxygen masker for themselves before to her children in an emergency situation. So, when there’s a turbulency, they will do the same. The second case : a young man with his friend work together in the same office. One of them is living far away from the office. So, as a good friend, the young man will take his friend work and home together. As the consequence, they’re often late to work and the young man always go home lately.
From both of the stories, do you find any differences? Ya, you’re right. For the first case, the mother will help themselves first, then they will help their children. Meanwhile, in the second case, the young man sacrificed himself for his friend. As the consequence, he got the disadvantages, on the other hand, his friends get the benefits. In this second case, the young man is one of the fake hero. How could it be? The young man has been helped his friend and he got the praises. yet what happened after that? He got the same disadvantages as his friend. This young man feels like a hero cause he helped his friend and he feels unpleasant if he wants to leave his friend.
There’s so many people who feel the same. You need to know that to help people, we don’t have to sacrifice ourselves. It’s better for us to teach people how to fishing rather than to give them the fish. This is because when we can’t give them the fish later anymore, they still get their foods by fishing, cause they have been known the way how to get their own food by themselves.
Someone who has been trapped in this “fake hero” will be hard to get away from this case. This is also happened to every people, not only employees but also the students. Sometimes we saw someone who helped his friend to do his task without think twice. He has been considered as a hero for his classmates. But sometimes he feels that he got losses because he gave something that shouldn’t be shared with anyone else like cheating.

For those reason, we have to be smart to see the problems. Don’t be someone who will do anything because of we wanna be considered as a hero, or we’ll be trapped in the “fake hero”. For you that has been in this situation, it will be better for you to get away from this case by giving the better things to the people around you. Give them the useful things rather than giving them something that will makes them depends on you. Good luck!!

Ketika mempelajari karya sastra –yang disebut dengan introduction to literature dalam bahasa inggris-, kita pasti bertanya-tanya apa sih yang dipelajari dalam mata kuliah ini?
